Enjoy these delightful Coconut Ladoos as a sweet treat during Diwali or share them with family and friends. The combination of coconut, condensed milk, and cardamom creates a perfect blend of flavours in every bite. Happy cooking and Happy Diwali!

Ingredients

2 cups grated coconut (fresh or desiccated)
1 cup condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
Chopped nuts for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. If you are using fresh coconut, grate it finely. If using desiccated coconut, ensure it is unsweetened.
  2. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee over medium heat.
  3. Add the grated coconut to the pan and roast it for 4-5 minutes on low to medium heat. Stir continuously to prevent burning.
  4. The coconut should turn slightly golden and release a nutty aroma. This step enhances the flavour of the ladoos.
  5. Pour the condensed milk into the roasted coconut and mix well.
  6. Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring continuously to avoid sticking to the pan. The mixture will thicken as it cooks.
  7. Once the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan, add cardamom powder for flavour. Mix well.
  8. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Grease your hands with a little ghee to prevent sticking.
  9. Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into round ladoos. If desired, press a chopped nut into the center of each ladoo for decoration.
  10. Repeat the process until all the mixture is used to make ladoos.
  11. Allow the Coconut Ladoos to cool completely before serving. They will firm up as they cool.
  12. Optionally, you can roll the ladoos in desiccated coconut for an extra layer of texture.
  13. Place the Coconut Ladoos  in decorative cases or on a plate for a festive presentation.
