Natco Toor Dal Oily 500g is yellow split pigeon peas with a light oil coating, ideal for preparing hearty dals and everyday curries. Rinse thoroughly, optionally soak for 30 minutes to reduce cooking time, then cook in plenty of fresh water. Bring to a boil, skim any foam, and simmer for 30–40 minutes until tender, or cook in a pressure cooker as per device guidance. Add salt after softening. Finish with a tempering of oil or ghee, mustard seeds, cumin, curry leaves, garlic, and chilli for balanced flavour and aroma.
