Turnips 500 g brings you firm, purple-top turnips with crisp white flesh and a gently peppery, naturally sweet flavour, perfect for everyday cooking. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soil, peel if desired, then chop into even pieces. Boil in salted water for 10–15 minutes until tender, or roast at 200°C with a little oil and seasoning for 25–30 minutes, turning once. Mash with butter and herbs, blend into creamy soups, sauté with other roots, or dice and add to stews and curries for body and depth.
