SPECIAL RECIPE FOR SPECIAL WOMEN’S 

One of the best ways to celebrate this day is by cooking up some delicious and special recipes. Here are some ideas for dishes you can make to honor the women in your life:

Thandai

Thandai is a refreshing Indian drink made with a blend of nuts, spices, and milk

Ingredients

½ cup Almonds, soaked in water for 4-5 hours
¼ cup Cashews, soaked in water for 4-5 hours
¼ cup Pistachios, soaked in water for 4-5 hours
2 tbsp Poppy seeds, soaked in water for 4-5 hours
1 tbsp Fennel seeds
1 tsp Black pepper powder
1 tsp Cardamom powder-
1 tsp Rose water
1 cup Milk
Sugar to taste
Ice cubes (optional)

 

Method 

  1. Drain the soaked almonds, cashews, pistachios, and poppy seeds and blend them in a blender until smooth.
  2. Add fennel seeds, black pepper powder, cardamom powder, rose water, and milk to the blender and blend again.
  3. Strain the mixture using a cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer.
  4. Add sugar to taste and mix well.
  5. Serve chilled with ice cubes, if desired. 

Veggie Omelet

A veggie omelet is a delicious and nutritious way to start your day

Ingredients

3 Eggs
¼ cup Onion, chopped
¼ cup Tomato, chopped
¼ cup Bell pepper, chopped
¼ cup Grated cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp Butter

 

Method

  1. In a bowl, beat the eggs with salt and pepper.
  2. In a pan, heat butter and sauté chopped onion, tomato, and bell pepper for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour the beaten eggs into the pan and let it cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Once the omelet is set, sprinkle grated cheese on top and fold it in half.
  5. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve hot.

Vegetable Biryani

Vegetable Biryani is a flavorful Indian rice dish made with aromatic spices, vegetables, and sometimes nuts and dried fruits.

Ingredients

2 cups Basmati rice, rinsed and soaked for 30 minutes
3 tbsp Ghee
1 Onion, thinly sliced
1 cup Mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, green beans, potatoes)
1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Garam masala
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
Salt, to taste
4 cups Water

 

Method

  1. In a pot, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  3. Add the onion and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
  5. Add the mixed vegetables and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt.
  7. Drain the rice and add it to the pot, stirring gently to combine.
  8. Add the water and bring to a boil.
  9. Reduce heat to low, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, and let the biryani cook for 15-20 minutes, until the rice is cooked through and the water is absorbed.
  10. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.

 

Chocolate Truffles

Chocolate Truffles are rich, indulgent, and often served as a dessert or gift during special occasions.

Ingredients

½ cup Heavy cream
½ cup Dark chocolate chips
¼ cup Cocoa powder
1 tsp Vanilla extract
 

Method

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it starts to boil.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and add dark chocolate chips to it.
  3. Let it sit for a minute and then stir until the chocolate is completely melted.
  4. Add vanilla extract to the mixture and stir well.
  5. Refrigerate the mixture for 2-3 hours until it is firm.
  6. Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls.
  7. Roll the balls in cocoa powder and refrigerate again for 1-2 hours.
  8. Serve chilled.
