After ages 4 months to 6 months babies are ready to begin eating solid foods as a complement to breast-feeding or formula-feeding. Homemade baby food is generally more nutritious and tastier if it is fresh and made from whole foods.

APPLE PUREE FOR BABY

Smooth consistency with very fine particles

Ingredients

Apple

Method

Firstly, take half apple and peel the skin.
Chop into pieces & removing seeds.
Transfer the chopped apple into a saucepan.
Add ½ cup water, cover and simmer and cook until the apple softens.
Cool completely and blend to smooth paste.
Finally, feed the apple puree for baby by adjusting consistency with water, formula or breast milk.

    CHICKEN PUREE

    Soft, liquid paste or an easily chewed food

    Ingredients

    1 cup Sliced carrots

    1 cup chicken breasts

    ½ cup Rice

     

    Method

    Add all ingredients to the cooker.
    Stir very well.
    Place the lid on and cook for 1–2 hours.
    Remove the lid.
    Mash them with a fork.
    If your baby is young, puree the whole mixture.

      BARLEY PURE

      Barley is a nutritious and versatile grain

      Ingredients

      ¼ cup Whole Barley

      1 cup Banana / any fruits & vegetables peeled and cubed
      ½ cup Water

       

      Method

      Puree the banana using a blender with less water.
      Add barley into a saucepan. Then add ½ cup of water to it.
      Cook the barley in low medium flame for 10 minutes or until the barley gets cooked
      Once its cooked add pureed banana.
      Mix well. Cook it further for 3 more minutes. 
      Switch off the flame when it becomes thick.
